حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ اللَّيْثِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " اشْتَرَتْنِي امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ بِسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ بِسَبْعِمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ ، ثُمَّ قَدِمْتُ فَكَاتَبَتْنِي عَلَى أَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ فَأَدَّيْتُ إِلَيْهَا عَامَّةَ الْمَالِ ، ثُمَّ حَمَلْتُ مَا بَقِيَ إِلَيْهَا ، فَقُلْتُ : هَذَا مَالُكِ فَاقْبِضِيهِ ، قَالَتْ : لا وَاللَّهِ حَتَّى أَجِدَهُ مِنْكَ شَهْرًا بِشَهْرٍ وَسَنَةً بِسَنَةٍ ، فَخَرَجْتُ بِهِ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : ارْفَعْهُ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَالِ ، ثُمَّ بَعَثَ إِلَيْهَا ، فَقَالَ : هَذَا مَالُكِ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ ، وَقَدْ عُتِقَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، فَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَخِذِي شَهْرًا بِشَهْرٍ ، أَوْ سَنَةً بِسَنَةٍ ، قَالَ : فَأَرْسَلَتْ فَأَخَذَتْهُ " .
Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqbari narrates from his father: A woman from Banu Laith bought me from the market of Dhu al-Majaz for seven hundred dirhams. Then, when I came, she made a contract of kitabah with me for forty thousand dirhams. I paid most of it, and when only a little was left, I brought it to her and said, "Take your remaining amount." She replied, "By Allah! I will not take it like this, rather I will take it every month or every year." I took her to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and mentioned this matter to him. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Deposit it in the Bayt al-Mal (public treasury)." Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) called the woman and said, "Your money is deposited in the Bayt al-Mal. Abu Saeed is now free. Now it is up to you; if you wish, you may receive it from the Bayt al-Mal every month or every year." The narrator states: It was sent to her, and she received it.
