حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ ابْنَا إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالا : نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، نَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ، أنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْخَلَ فَرَسًا بَيْنَ فَرَسَيْنِ ، وَهُوَ لا يُؤْمِنُ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ فَلا بَأْسَ بِهِ ، وَمَنْ أَدْخَلَ فَرَسًا بَيْنَ فَرَسَيْنِ ، وَهُوَ يُؤْمِنُ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْقِمَارُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever adds one horse to two horses and is not certain that it will win, then there is no harm in it. But whoever adds one horse to two horses and is certain that it will win, then this is gambling."
