نَا نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نَا مَالِكُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، نَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ لِجَلِيسٍ لَهُ : " هَلْ تَدْرِي كَيْفَ قَضَى عُمَرُ فِي الْعَمَّةِ وَالْخَالَةِ ؟ ، قَالَ : لا ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ كَانَ قَضَى فِيهِمَا عُمَرُ جَعَلَ الْخَالَةَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الأُمِّ ، وَالْعَمَّةَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الأَبِ " .
Sha'bi narrates: Ziyad bin Abu Sufyan said to his companion: "Do you know what decision Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave regarding the paternal and maternal aunts?" The person replied: "No, I do not!" So Ziyad said: "I know best what Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) decided about this; he placed the maternal aunt in the position of the mother and the paternal aunt in the position of the father."
