Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There will be two divorces given by a slave, and then that woman will not be lawful for him until she marries another (and becomes widowed or divorced). The waiting period (‘iddah) for a slave woman will be two menstruations. A slave woman can be married along with a free woman, but a free woman cannot be married along with a slave woman."
