Hadith 3927

نَا نَا دَعْلَجٌ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، نَا حَبَّانُ ، نَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، أنا سَيْفٌ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ ، " إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي ثَلاثًا وَأَنَا غَضْبَانُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ لا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَحِلَّ لَكَ مَا حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكَ عَصَيْتَ رَبَّكَ وَحُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكَ امْرَأَتُكَ ، إِنَّكَ لَمْ تَتَّقِ اللَّهَ فَيَجْعَلْ لَكَ مَخْرَجًا ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ سورة الطلاق آية 1 طَاهِرًا عَنْ غَيْرِ جِمَاعٍ " ، قَالَ سَيْفٌ : وَلَيْسَ طَاهِرًا عَنْ غَيْرِ جِمَاعٍ فِي التِّلاوَةِ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ تَفْسِيرُهُ.
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: A Quraishi came to Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: O Abu Abbas! I have given my wife three divorces in a state of anger. So Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: That which has become forbidden for you, Abu Abbas cannot make lawful for you. You have disobeyed your Lord and made your wife unlawful for yourself. You did not fear Allah, otherwise He would have made a way out for you. Then Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) recited this verse: "And when you divorce women, then divorce them at their prescribed period." That is, before their waiting period, when they are in a state of purity and have not had intercourse with them. Saif, the narrator, stated: This (aforementioned sentence) is not part of the recitation but is an explanation of the (words of the Qur'an).
