Hadith 3917

نَا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ زَنْجُوَيْهِ ، نَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ ، نَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ عِنْدَهُ أَنَّ الطَّلاقَ الثَّلاثَ بِمَرَّةٍ مَكْرُوهٌ ، فَقَالَ : طَلَّقَ حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ بِكَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ثَلاثًا ، فَلَمْ يَبْلُغْنَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ ، وَطَلَّقَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَلاثًا فَلَمْ يَعِبْ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ " .
Salamah bin Abu Salamah narrates from his father: It was mentioned before him that giving three divorces at once is disliked, so he said: "Hafs bin Amr bin Mughira gave Fatimah bint Qais three divorces with a single statement, and we have not received any information that the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) objected to this in any way. Similarly, our master Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) also gave his wife three divorces (at once), but no one objected to him either."
