نَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْمَالِكِيُّ ، نَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ مُعَتِّبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا حَسَنٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي نَوْفَلٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، قَالَ : اسْتَفْتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ " فِي عَبْدٍ تَحْتَهُ مَمْلُوكَةٌ فَطَلَّقَهَا تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ عُتِقَا جَمِيعًا ، قَالَ : يَخْطُبُهَا إِنْ شَاءَ ، قَضَى بِذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Abu Hasan narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about a slave whose wife is a slave woman, and then he gives her two divorces, then both of them are freed together. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Now if the man wishes, he can send a marriage proposal to that woman; the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this ruling."
