Hadith 3843

نَا نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، نَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : " عِدَّةُ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ عِدَّةُ الْحُرَّةِ " ، قَالَ أَبِي : هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مُنْكَرٌ.
Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "The waiting period (‘iddah) of an umm walad is equal to the waiting period of a free woman." (The narrator named Abdullah bin Ahmad says) My father has stated this: This narration is munkar (denounced). Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "The waiting period (‘iddah) of an umm walad is equal to the waiting period of a free woman."
