نَا نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْيَقْطِينِيُّ ، نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْقَطَّانُ ، نَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْخَلالُ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، نَا زَيْدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، نَا أَبُو مُعَيْدٍ حَفْصُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، أَنَّ رَجَاءَ بْنَ حَيْوَةَ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ قَبِيصَةَ بْنَ ذُؤَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : " عِدَّةُ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ إِذَا تُوُفِّيَ عَنْهَا سَيِّدُهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا ، وَإِذَا أُعْتِقَتْ فَعِدَّتُهَا ثَلاثُ حِيَضٍ " ، مَوْقُوفٌ وَهُوَ الصَّوَابُ ، وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ ، لأَنَّ قَبِيصَةَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ عَمْرٍو.
Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When the master of an umm walad passes away, her waiting period (‘iddah) will be four months and ten days, and when she is set free, her waiting period will be three menstrual cycles." This narration is mawquf and this is correct; this narration is also mursal because the narrator named Qabisah did not hear hadith from Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him).
