Hadith 3839

نَا نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، نَا أَبُو مُوسَى ، نَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، نَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ ، عَنْ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لا تَلْبَسُوا عَلَيْنَا سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّنَا ، عِدَّتُهَا عِدَّةُ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا فِي عِدَّةِ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ " ، .
Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not confuse the command of the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) before us; its waiting period is equal to the waiting period of a widow, that is, the waiting period of an umm walad (four months and ten days)."
