Hadith 3823

نَا نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ ، نَا مُعَلَّى ، نَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : " إِذَا أَغْلَقَ بَابًا ، وَأَرْخَى سِتْرًا ، فَقَدْ وَجَبَ لَهَا الصَّدَاقُ ، وَعَلَيْهَا الْعِدَّةُ ، وَلَهَا الْمِيرَاثُ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When a man closes the door and draws the curtain, or sees the private part of the woman, then the payment of the dowry becomes obligatory upon him, and the woman must observe the waiting period (‘iddah), and she is entitled to a share in inheritance."
