Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) was given the choice, her husband was a slave of Banu Mughira. I remember well that he was following Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) in the streets of Madinah to please her, his tears flowing down his beard, but Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) kept saying: "I have no need of you."
