Hadith 3731

نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَاعِدٍ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ ، نَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَخَذَتْ بِثَوْبِهِ : " كُنْ عِنْدِي الْيَوْمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنْ شِئْتِ كُنْتُ عِنْدَكِ الْيَوْمَ وَقَاصَصْتُكِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِلثَّيِّبِ ثَلاثٌ ، وَلِلْبِكْرِ سَبْعُ لَيَالٍ " .
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: She presented herself in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and held onto the garment of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "You (peace and blessings be upon him) will stay with me today." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, I will stay with you today, and then in exchange for this, I will deduct your day from the division (on another day)." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A previously married woman will get three days, and a virgin will get seven days."
