نَا نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، نَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، نَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : تَزَوَّجَ جُبَيْرُ بْنُ مُطْعِمٍ امْرَأَةً فَطَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا فَقَرَأَ الآيَةَ " إِلا أَنْ يَعْفُونَ أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ سورة البقرة آية 237 ، فَقَالَ : أَنَا أَحَقُّ بِالْعَفْوِ إِلَيْهَا فَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهَا الْمَهْرَ كَامِلا فَأَعْطَاهَا إِيَّاهُ " .
Abu Salamah reports: Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) married a woman, then divorced her before consummation. He recited this verse: "Except in the case when the woman waives it, or he waives it in whose hand is the knot of marriage." Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im said: I have more right to waive than this woman. Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im sent the full dowry to that woman and paid it to her.
