نَا نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، نَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ جُبَيْرَ بْنَ مُطْعِمٍ ، " تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي نَصْرٍ فَطَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا بِالصَّدَاقِ كَامِلا ، فَقَالَ : " أَنَا أَحَقُّ بِالْعَفْوِ مِنْهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : إِلا أَنْ يَعْفُونَ أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ سورة البقرة آية 237 ، وَأَنَا أَحَقُّ بِالْعَفْوِ مِنْهَا " ،.
Yahya bin Abdur Rahman and Abu Salamah narrate: Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) married a woman from Banu Nadir, and then divorced her before consummation. Sayyiduna Jubair sent her the full dowry, and said: I have more right to forgive than this woman (because Allah has said): "Except in the case where the women forgive, or he forgives in whose hand is the knot of marriage." (Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut'im said) I have more right to forgive than this woman.
