Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When Sayyiduna Ghailan bin Salamah Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam, he had ten wives. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him: "Keep four of them with you." During the time of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ghailan bin Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) divorced those women, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) instructed him to "take those women back." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If you die, I will make those women your heirs, and I will have your grave stoned, just as the grave of Abu Righal was stoned." In one narration, these words are mentioned: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Take them back, otherwise I will make them heirs to your wealth and I will give orders regarding your grave." In one narration, these words are mentioned: When he accepted Islam, those women also accepted Islam with him.
