نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا الصَّاغَانِيُّ ، نَا مُعَلَّى ، نَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، أَنَّ جَدَّهُ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَسْلَمَ وَعِنْدَهُ ثَمَانِ نِسْوَةٍ ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَخْتَارَ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا " .
The narrator named Mughira, reporting from Rabi' bin Qais, states: When his great-grandfather, Sayyiduna Harith bin Qais al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him), accepted Islam, he had eight wives at that time. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to "choose four of them."
