ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، نَا مَحْبُوبُ بْنُ مُحْرِزٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ النَّخَعِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا أَنْ تَعْتَدَّ فِي غَيْرِ بَيْتِهَا إِنْ شَاءَتْ " ، لَمْ يُسْنِدْهُ غَيْرُ أَبِي مَالِكٍ النَّخَعِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَمَحْبُوبٌ ، ضَعِيفٌ أَيْضًا.
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) instructed the widow that "if she wishes, she may observe her waiting period (‘iddah) at a place other than her home." No one except Abu Malik Nakhai has narrated this report with a chain of transmission, and this narrator is weak. The other narrator of this report, Mahbub (bin Mahraz Tamimi), is also weak.
