Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade temporary marriage with women (mut'ah). He said: "Allah Almighty had made it lawful for people during the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), at that time the number of women was small, then it was made unlawful for people. Now, if anyone commits this act, he will be punished."
