Hadith 3621

نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، نَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ . ح وَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : " خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : نَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا ؟ ، قُلْتُ : لا ، قَالَ : فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا " ، وَقَالَ أَبُو شِهَابٍ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً ، وَالْبَاقِي مِثْلُهُ.
Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I sent a marriage proposal to a woman. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me: “Have you seen her?” I replied: “No.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Go and see her, for this will create love between you both.” The narrator named Abu Shahab has transmitted these words: I said: “O Messenger of Allah! I have sent a marriage proposal to a woman.” The subsequent words are as previously mentioned.
