نَا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ السِّمْسَارُ ، نَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ السَّكَنِ ، نَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَخْبَرَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " ارْأَ فِيَّ رَأْيَكَ ، فَقَالَ : مَنْ يَنْكِحُ هَذِهِ ؟ ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ بُرْدَةٌ عَاقِدُهَا فِي عُنُقِهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَكَ مَالٌ ؟ ، قَالَ : لا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : اجْلِسْ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ارْأَ فِيَّ رَأْيَكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ يَنْكِحُ هَذِهِ ؟ ، فَقَامَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ ، فَقَالَ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَكَ مَالٌ ؟ ، قَالَ : لا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : اجْلِسْ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتِ الثَّالِثَةَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ارْأَ فِيَّ رَأْيَكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ يَنْكِحُ هَذِهِ ؟ ، فَقَامَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ ، فَقَالَ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَكَ مَالٌ ؟ ، قَالَ : لا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : فَهَلْ تَقْرَأُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْئًا ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ وَسُورَةَ الْمُفَصَّلِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ أَنْكَحْتُكَهَا عَلَى أَنْ تُقْرِئَهَا وَتُعَلِّمَهَا وَإِذَا رَزَقَكَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَوَّضْتَهَا " ، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا الرَّجُلُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عُتْبَةُ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A woman came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Give your opinion regarding me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Who will marry her?" A man stood up who was wearing a sheet, which he had tied around his neck, and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I (will marry her)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah! I do not." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him, "Sit down." Then the woman came again and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Give your opinion regarding me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Who will marry her?" The same man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I (will marry her)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah! I do not." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Sit down." Then the woman came again and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Give your opinion regarding me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Who will marry her?" The same man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I (will marry her)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah! I do not." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Do you know the Qur'an (by heart)?" He replied, "Yes, Surah Al-Baqarah and the separated Surahs (I have memorized)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I marry you to her on the condition that you teach her the Qur'an, you give her education, and when Allah Almighty provides you with sustenance, you will give her the dowry." So the man married the woman on this condition. In narrating this report, the narrator named Utbah bin Sakan is unique, and he is considered abandoned in hadith.
