Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gives two handfuls in marriage, then he has made the marriage lawful." The narrator states: Perhaps the words here are flour, grain, or sattu; the narrator named Ibn Sinan has transmitted these words: "Whoever gives as dowry." The narrator states: Perhaps the words here are dates, sattu, or flour. At the end of the narration, these words are present: "then he has made it lawful."
