Hadith 3592

نَا أَبُو الأَسْوَدِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، نَا أَبُو هَارُونَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنْ صَدَاقِ النِّسَاءِ ، فَقَالَ : مَا اصْطَلَحَ عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُوهُمْ " .
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: We asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the dowry (mahr) for women, so he (peace be upon him) said: "Its amount will be that which they mutually agree upon."
