Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A girl came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! My father, who is a very good father, has married me to his nephew so that his low status may be improved because of me." So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave that girl the choice (to annul the marriage), and she said: "I accept what my father has done; I only wanted women to know that in this matter the father does not have authority."
