نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، نَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، نَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَذْنَبَ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا ذَنْبًا فَعُوقِبَ بِهِ فَاللَّهُ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يُثَنِّيَ عُقُوبَتَهُ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ ، وَمَنْ أَذْنَبَ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا ذَنْبًا فَسَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ وَعَفَا عَنْهُ ، فَاللَّهُ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي شَيْءٍ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, then Allah’s majesty is above that He would punish that servant for it again. And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it and forgives him, then Allah’s majesty is above that He would punish him again for something He has already forgiven.”
