Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim, the Prophet of repentance, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever falsely accuses his slave or slave-girl of adultery, and they are innocent of what he accused them of, Allah Almighty will punish that accuser on the Day of Resurrection with the prescribed number of lashes. However, if they (the slave or slave-girl) are actually guilty, then the ruling is different."
