Hisham bin Urwah narrates from his father: Sayyiduna Zubair interceded on behalf of a thief, so someone said: "First let this case be presented before the judge, then you may intercede." So Sayyiduna Zubair said: "When it has reached the judge, then may Allah curse the one who intercedes and the one for whom intercession is made (i.e., the one who accepts it), just as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has said."
