نَا نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، نَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، أَنَّ إِنْسَانًا قُتِلَ بِصَنْعَاءَ ، وَأَنَّ عُمَرَ قَتَلَ بِهِ سَبْعَةَ نَفَرٍ ، وَقَالَ : لَوْ تَمَالأَ عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُ صَنْعَاءَ لَقَتَلْتُهُمْ بِهِ جَمِيعًا " .
Saeed bin Musayyib narrates: A man was killed in (the city of Yemen) Sana'a, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had seven people who participated in the killing executed in retaliation, and said: "If all the people of Sana'a had participated in the killing of this man, I would have had all of them killed in retaliation for him."
