Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The blood money (diyah) of a mukatab (a slave with a contract of manumission) will be according to the proportion of his freedom; for the part that is free, his diyah will be that of a free man, and for the part that is still a slave, his diyah will be that of a slave."
