نَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ ابْنَ عَمِّ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " جَاءَ الأَسْلَمِيُّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَشَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ امْرَأَةً حَرَامًا أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ ، كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يُعْرِضُ عَنْهُ ، فَأَقْبَلَ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ ، فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً : أَنِكْتَهَا ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : حَتَّى غَابَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهَا كَمَا يَغِيبُ الْمِرْوَدُ فِي الْمُكْحُلَةِ ، وَالرِّشَاءُ فِي الْبِئْرِ ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا الزِّنَى ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ أَتَيْتُ مِنْهَا حَرَامًا مَا يَأْتِي الرَّجُلُ مِنَ امْرَأَتِهِ حَلالا ، قَالَ : فَمَا تُرِيدُ بِهَذَا الْقَوْلِ ؟ ، قَالَ : أُرِيدُ أَنْ تُطَهِّرَنِي ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُجِمَ ، فَسَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، يَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ : انْظُرْ إِلَى هَذَا الَّذِي سَتَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَمْ تَدَعْهُ نَفْسُهُ حَتَّى رُجِمَ رَجْمَ الْكِلابِ ، فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ سَارَ سَاعَةً حَتَّى مَرَّ بِجِيفَةِ حِمَارٍ شَائِلٍ بِرِجْلِهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَيْنَ فُلانٌ وَفُلانٌ ، قَالا : نَحْنُ ذَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : انْزِلا فَكُلا مِنْ جِيفَةِ هَذَا الْحِمَارِ، قَالا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ ، مَنْ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ هَذَا ؟ ، قَالَ : مَا نِلْتُمَا مِنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيكُمَا آنِفًا أَشَدُّ مِنْ أَكْلِ الْمَيْتَةِ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُ الآنَ لَفِي أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ يَنْغَمِسُ فِيهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the tribe of Aslam came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he testified four times about himself that he had established an unlawful relationship with a woman. Each time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. When he came the fifth time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Did you have intercourse with her?" He replied: "Yes." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "(In such a way) that your private part entered her private part just as a needle enters a kohl container, or a bucket enters a well?" He replied: "Yes." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know what adultery is?" He replied: "Yes, I committed with that woman, in an unlawful way, the act that a man lawfully does with his wife." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What do you seek by this confession?" He replied: "I want you (peace and blessings be upon him) to purify me." So, by the order of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he was stoned to death.
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard two men among his companions talking. One of them said to the other: "Just look at this man, Allah had concealed his sin, but he did not let it remain concealed and was stoned like a dog." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. After a while, he passed by the carcass of a donkey, one of its legs raised upwards. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Where are so-and-so and so-and-so?" Both replied: "O Messenger of Allah! We are here." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Both of you get down and take your share of meat from this dead donkey." Both replied: "O Prophet of Allah! May Allah forgive you, who would eat its meat?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What you have just done to your brother's honor is more severe than eating the flesh of a dead animal. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, that man is now diving into the rivers of Paradise."
