Abdullah bin Amr al-Hadrami narrates: I brought my slave to Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). I said: "O Commander of the Faithful! Have his hand cut off." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "What has he done?" I said: "He stole my wife's mirror, which was worth more than sixty dirhams." So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Your servant has stolen your property; his hand will not be cut off."
