نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ الْفَلاسُ ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، نَا أَبُو هِلالٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَطَعَ فِي شَيْءٍ قِيمَتُهُ خَمْسَةُ دَرَاهِمَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو هِلالٍ : فَقَالُوا لِي : إِنَّ ابْنَ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، يَقُولُ : هُوَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ، قَالَ : فَلَقِيتُ هِشَامًا الدَّسْتُوَائِيَّ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : هُوَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . قَالَ أَبُو هِلالٍ : " فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَهُوَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports regarding the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) had a hand cut off for theft of an item whose value was five dirhams. Abu Hilal, the narrator, states: Some hadith scholars informed me: Ibn Abu ‘Aroobah narrated this report from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Later, I met Hisham and mentioned this to him, and he said: This is narrated from Qatadah, from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Hilal says: If this is not narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), then it is either from the Prophet (peace be upon him) or from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).
