Hadith 3404

قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ نَحْوَهُ . إِلا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ إِذَا سَمِعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ صَوْتَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، قَالَ : " مَا لَيْلُكَ بِلَيْلِ سَارِقٍ ".
This narration is also transmitted with another chain, however, in it are these words: When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) heard his voice, he said: "You do not spend the night of a thief."
