نَا نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَنِيفَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَرَقَ السَّارِقُ قُطِعَتْ يَدُهُ الْيُمْنَى ، فَإِنْ عَادَ قُطِعَتْ رِجْلُهُ الْيُسْرَى ، فَإِنْ عَادَ ضُمِّنَ السِّجْنَ حَتَّى يُحَدِّثَ خَيْرًا ، إِنِّي لأَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَدَعَهُ " ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ.
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When a thief commits theft, I will have his right hand cut off. If he does it again, I will have his left foot cut off. If he does it yet again, I will keep him imprisoned until he reforms, because I feel ashamed to leave him in such a state. (After this, he mentioned the hadith as previously narrated.)
