نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُفَيْرٍ ، نَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، نَا اللَّيْثُ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْفَارِسِيُّ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، نَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، نَا اللَّيْثُ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، " أَنَّ رَجُلا زَنَى بِامْرَأَةٍ ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجُلِدَ الْحَدَّ ، ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَ أَنَّهُ أُحْصِنَ ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُجِمَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man committed adultery with a woman, so by the order of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he was flogged as the prescribed punishment. Later, it was reported to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the man was a muhsan (i.e., married), so by the order of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he was stoned to death.
