Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If a person commits an offense liable to hadd and I carry out the hadd punishment on him and, because of this, he dies, then I think that I must pay his blood money, except for the person upon whom the hadd punishment for drinking wine is carried out, because regarding this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prescribe anything (specifically)."
