نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، أنا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ . ح وَنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، نَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا زَنَتْ أَمَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلا يُعَيِّرْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَادَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلا يُعَيِّرْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَادَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلا يُعَيِّرْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَادَتْ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَلْيَبِعْهَا وَلَوْ بِحَبْلٍ مِنْ شَعَرٍ أَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ مِنْ شَعَرٍ " ، .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man's slave-girl commits adultery, he should flog her, but not speak ill of her verbally. If she commits this crime again, he should flog her, but not speak ill of her verbally. If she commits this crime yet again, he should flog her, but not speak ill of her verbally. If she does it a fourth time, he should sell her, even if it is in exchange for a rope made of animal hair." (Here the narrator is in doubt as to which word was used for rope, ḥabl or ḍafīr.)
