Hadith 3231

نَا نَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الْقَاضِي ، نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ الدُّولابِيُّ ، نَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، وَحُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، " جَلَدَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ وَرَجَمَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَقَالَ : جَلَدْتُهَا بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، وَرَجَمْتُهَا بِسُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Sha'bi narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) had him flogged on Thursday and stoned him to death on Friday. So it was said to him: "You have combined two punishments?" He replied: "I had him flogged according to the command of Allah's Book, and I had him stoned according to the Sunnah of Allah's Messenger."
