Hadith 3164

نَا ابْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، قَالَ : أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَارِقٍ قَدْ سَرَقَ شَمْلَةً ، فَقَالَ : " أَسَرَقْتَ مَا إِخَالُهُ سَرَقَ ، قَالَ : بَلَى ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اقْطَعُوهُ ثُمَّ احْسِمُوهُ ، فَقَطَعُوهُ ثُمَّ حَسَمُوهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : تُبْ ، فَقَالَ : تُبْتُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ تُبْ عَلَيْهِ " ،.
Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman narrates: A thief who had stolen a sheet was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Did you really steal?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Cut off his hand, then cauterize it." The people cut off his hand, then cauterized it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him, "Repent." He said, "I repent to Allah." The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed, "O Allah! Accept his repentance."
