Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a girl became pregnant as a result of adultery. She was asked, “Who made you pregnant?” She replied, “Al-Maq’ad (so-and-so) made me pregnant.” That person was questioned about this, and he confessed to his crime. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “He will not be able to bear the lashes.” So, by the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), one hundred twigs were taken and with them, a single blow was struck on that person. The narrator has reported it in this way, but the correct version is that it is transmitted from Abu Hazim, from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah bin Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
