Hadith 3136

نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، نَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْعَمْدُ قَوَدٌ إِلا أَنْ يَعْفُوَ وَلِي الْمَقْتُولِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Retribution (qisas) will be taken for intentional murder, however, if the heir of the slain wishes, he may pardon (the killer)."
