Hadith 3115

نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأُمَوِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، وَعُثْمَانَ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ ، وَيَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا جُرِحَ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيدَ ، " فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُسْتَقَادَ مِنَ الْجَارِحِ حَتَّى يَبْرَأَ الْمَجْرُوحُ " ،.
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man was wounded, and he intended to take retribution (qisas). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking retribution from the one who caused the wound until the wounded person recovered.
