نَا نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ غَيْلانَ ، نَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الرِّفَاعِيُّ ، نَا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَمُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ وَعُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ ، قَالُوا : " إِذَا اشْتَبَهَ عَلَيْكَ الْحَدُّ فَادْرَأْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) (these three personalities) say: When the matter of a hadd (prescribed punishment) becomes doubtful before you, then, as much as you are able, set it aside.
