ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْخَوَّاصُ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَكْحُولا ، يَقُولُ : نَا نَافِعُ بْنُ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ ، يَقُولُ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُفَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الأُمِّ وَوَلَدِهَا ، فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِلَى مَتَى ؟ ، قَالَ : حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْغُلامُ وَتَحِيضَ الْجَارِيَةُ " ، عَبْدُ اللَّهِ هَذَا هُوَ الْوَاقِعِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفُ الْحَدِيثِ ، رَمَاهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ بِالْكَذِبِ ، وَلَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ غَيْرُهُ.
Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade separating a mother and her child (when selling slaves or slave-girls). It was asked: “O Messenger of Allah! For how long does this ruling apply?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Until the boy reaches puberty and the girl begins menstruating.” The narrator named ‘Abdullah is indeed weak; ‘Ali bin al-Madini accused him of lying, and no one besides him has narrated from Sa‘id bin ‘Abd al-‘Aziz.
