Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some captives were brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he ordered me to sell two brothers from among them. While selling them, I separated them (i.e., sold them to two different people). When this was reported to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said: "Go back to them and return both of them, and sell them together. Do not separate them."
