ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ ، نَا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، نَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ، نَا سُفْيَانُ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ ، قَالَ : تَبَايَعَ رَجُلانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ سَعْدٍ بِسُلْتٍ وَشَعِيرٍ ، فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ : " تَبَايَعَ رَجُلانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِتَمْرٍ وَرُطَبٍ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : هَلْ يَنْقُصُ الرُّطَبُ إِذَا يَبِسَ ؟ ، فَقَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَلا إِذًا " .
Shaykh Abu Ayash narrates that during the time of Sayyiduna Sa’d, people made a transaction involving two types of barley. Sayyiduna Sa’d said: In the blessed time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), two men made a transaction of dry and fresh dates. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: “When the dates become dry, do they decrease (in quantity)?” The people replied: “Yes.” So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “(Then this is not permissible).”
