Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever gives something as a gift, then he has more right to it, as long as he has not received any compensation for it." This narration is not authentically established as a marfu' (attributed to the Prophet); rather, the correct view is that it is transmitted as a mawquf narration from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) through Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar.
