ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُبَشِّرٍ ، وَابْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالُوا : نَا أَبُو الأَشْعَثِ ، نَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ فُرَافِصَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الأَوْصَابِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْعَارِيَةُ مُؤَدَّاةٌ ، وَالْمِنْحَةُ أَوِ الْمَنِيحَةُ مُؤَدَّاةٌ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : فَعُهِدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : عَهْدُ اللَّهِ أَحَقُّ مَا أَدَّى " .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A borrowed item must be returned, and a gift given for temporary use must also be returned." So a man asked: "Is this the decision of Allah's Messenger?" He replied: "This is Allah's decision, and He is most deserving that His decision be fulfilled."
