ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَغْرَاءَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ الضَّبِّيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " خَرَجَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِزَرْعٍ تَهْتَزُّ ، فَقَالَ : لِمَنْ هَذَا الزَّرْعُ ؟ ، قَالُوا : لِرَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ أَخَذَ الأَرْضَ بِالنِّصْفِ أَوْ بِالثُّلُثِ ، فَقَالَ : انْظُرْ نَفَقَتَكَ فِي هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ فَخُذْهَا مِنْ صَاحِبِ الأَرْضِ ، وَادْفَعْ إِلَيْهِ أَرْضَهُ وَزَرْعَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was traveling and he saw a field that was flourishing. He inquired: "Whose field is this?" The people replied: "This field belongs to Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij." The Prophet (peace be upon him) had him called; he used to lease the land for half or one third of the produce. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Calculate what you have spent on this land, then take it from the owner of the land, and hand over this person's land and his field back to him."
