وثنا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، نَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا تُزْرَعُ ثَلاثَةٌ ، رَجُلٌ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَهُوَ يَزْرَعُهَا ، أَوْ رَجُلٌ مُنِحَ أَرْضًا فَهُوَ يَزْرَعُهَا ، أَوْ رَجُلٌ اكْتَرَى أَرْضًا بِذَهَبٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade muhaqala and muzabana. He (peace be upon him) said: “Farming is of three types: One is that a person owns land and cultivates it; another is a person who is given land as a gift and he cultivates it; and the third is a person who acquires land on rent in exchange for gold and silver (so he may cultivate it).”
